Re:Build Program
REFUGEE PROGRAM HIGHLIGHT
Harnessing the therapeutic benefits of creating with your hands to make beautiful artisan goods and provide supplemental income to refugee women with barriers to traditional employment.
In addition to work opportunities, we aim to foster - confidence, resume building, putting language learning to practice, and community education.
WHAT WE MAKE:
We combine traditional skills from our artisans countries of origin and new artisan techniques to create a wide range of handmade goods!
In addition to the artisan goods providing income to our partners, they are a tool to educate the community about refugees and immigrants, start building bridges, and dispel myths people may have about the journey of a refugee.
THE IMPACT OF RE:BUILD
Re:Build is about more than creating beautiful artisan goods. Through the program, women have the opportunity to earn supplemental income, build confidence, strengthen their resumes, practice language skills, and build community. It also creates opportunities for our artisans to share their cultures and stories with the communities they now call home.
WHERE WE WORK:
Our program began in south Louisiana in 2016 and has since grown to the upstate of South Carolina as well!
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
Our biggest need is for people to shop our handmade artisan goods! But in addition to shopping, volunteers make our work possible! We welcome you to fill out our volunteer form on our Volunteer page on our website.
